I’ve been thinking for a while now to do a solo sail from Table Bay to Simons Town.
Considering the distance and dangers along the coastline this voyage needs proper planning since once Hout Bay is abeam, there are no possible stops along the way.
What are your thoughts on the best conditions to attempt this voyage?
Is it safe to consider during the winter months?
Which conditions are better? – SE’ly winds or rather a NW’ly?
Is it feasible sailing the entire way or should I plan on motoring some/all of the way depending on conditions?
Any thoughts or comments from those of you who have done this trip would be appreciated.
